One plant at a time

5 Nov

I used to do my gardening in spurts.  A few marathon days in spring, maybe a mid season weed, and then pull it all out for the winter crop.  Since I’ve had kids, I can only grab half an hour at a time (or maybe only five minutes).  It makes me a more constant gardener, I think, but the weeds and the snails are definitely winning.  Today I potted  up some leftover seedlings for the vegie swap tomorrow and finally got the basil in the ground to give the tomatoes some company.     Early November has to be one of my favourite times in the garden. Nearly everything is planted, and nearly everything is small and lush and  green. The anticipation is awesome. Will there be tomatoes by Christmas?
