Permablitz time, or how I learned to be a better carpenter

14 Nov

Today we went to a permablitz. What’s that?, you ask. Well, a (small) bunch of people trained in permaculture work with householders to make a big plan for their garden, and then a (big) bunch of people head over and make it all happen. Today it was in the next suburb over from ours, and we were building a chook house, weeding, making raised vegie beds and digging out and paving a pergola area to make it more useable. I ended up helping out with the chook house and picked up a few tips about sawing which I plan to put in action tomorrow. My second piece of wood even fit where it was supposed to. A very satisfying way to go home with grubbyknees.
